  Panshan -- First Mountain in East Beijing
 

Located in the northwest of Jixian County in Tianjin and about 75 kilometers east of Beijing, Mount Panshan may well be the best-known scenic spot in Tianjin.

Panshan Mountain enjoys a reputation of The First Mountain in Jingdong (east are of Beijing) because of its beauty of peaks and range, dense forest, clear water and rugged rocks.

Guayuefeng, the highest peak of Panshan Mt, is 864.40 meters above sea level. On the peak, there is a Buddhist Tower which is said that the Buddhist Light will be seen whenever the eve of Chinese New Year. At foot of the Peak, there is a temple built in the Tang Dynasty. If you come up to the peak, you will enjoy the beautiful surrounding of the Mt. People who would like to visit Panshan can get the tour bus from Tianjin City.

How to get there: There are two trains a day between Tianjin and Jixian, taking 3 hours. There are also regular buses from Tianjin's northeast bus station. Expressway is available for travelers departing from Beijing and it's about 2 hours' driving to get there.
