Beijing to Adjust Admission Fees for WCH

A hearing on the adjustment of admission fees to six of Beijing's World Cultural Heritage sites is to be held on Tuesday.

The management of the famous Summer Palace revealed that one of the reasons for the adjustments is to control visitor overload, while another is to raise money for the heritages' long-term protection and reconstruction activities.

Till now, the capital's most famous heritages, including the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven are all in need of more funds for their repair and maintenance.
An official with the Summer Palace says the price adjustment will not have a large impact on regular visitors, as other discount policies will apply.

The city's six world heritages are the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall at Badaling, the Temple of Heaven, and the Dingling and Changling Ming Tombs.

The price adjustment plan is as follows:
1/ Summer Palace; from USD4.00 to USD10.00 per person
2/ Forbidden City, from USD8.00 to USD12.50 per person
3/ Great Wall at Badaling, from USD5.00 to USD10.00 per person
4/ Temple of Heaven, from USD2.00 to USD6.25 per person
5/ Dingling Ming Tombs, from USD7.50 to USD8.75 per person
6/ Changling Ming Tombs, from USD5.65 to USD6.25 per person
