TheCentury Art Museum is situated on the first floor of the main structure, and consists of the Gallery of Oriental and Occidental Art and the Century Mural Hall.
The Century Mural Hall, 38 metres in diameter and 1171 square metres in area, is decorated on the interior with a huge mural painting 4.8 metres high and 117 metres in periphery, making up over 500 square metres - a record of its kind in the country. This mural depicts chronologically the evolution, spirit and achievements of the 5000-year-long Chinese civilization in four periods. It is a joint effort made by famous artists of the nation to reflect the highest level of contemporary Chinese mural painting and the profound cultural significance of the China Millennium Monument.
The Gallery of Oriental and Occidental Art consists of two circular halls, one on each side of the Century Mural Hall. The gallery remains the only exhibition hall of world standards in Beijing over the short term, equipped as it is with the best exhibition technology and apparatus in the world.
One level underneath the main structure is the Century Wide-Screen Projection Hall, which is equipped with state-of-art audio-visual-electric facilities.
North of the main structure lies the Millennium Monument Culture Square, which is the largest lawn-square to be found in Beiling today, with a seating capacity of almost 20,000 people over an area of 140,000 square metres.
