| Bonuo Temple |
Changchun Bonuo Temple is located in the east of Renmin Square , covers 7,200 kilometers. Originating in the year 1922, it is the largest Buddhist temple of Hcngchchin . In 1923, Buddhist patriarch preached' Bonuo Scripture' in Changchun , and then set up the temple named ' Bonuo Temple ', which initially was built on the Xisi Road in Nanguan District, and was rebuilt on Xichangchun Street in 1931.

Today, Bonuo Temple covers 14,000 kilometers. The designs of the bell tower in the east and the drum tower in the west are unique, and highly skilled. In case of important occasions, bells and drums will resound to the skies. The whole temple consists of three layers. The first layer is the Maitreya Hall, in which sits the Statue of Maitreya. In front of it there is a white marble tablet which records the detailed building process of the temple. The second layer is the Daxiong Hall, the center of the temple, and the biggest building. The third layer is the West Three Saints' Hall, a two-layered architect, the upper of which is a tower with scriptures hidden, the lower of which consecrates the statues of the Maitreya, Dashizhi Bodhisattva, and Guanshuyin Bodhisattva. Either side of the Saints' Hall is the side hall of the Daxiong Hall. The east side hall is Guanshiyin Bodhisattva Hall, and the west side hall is the Dicangwang Bodhisattva Hall. To compare with the former two halls, here the pine and cypress shrug into the skies, with the birds' cheerful songs, creating a simple mysterious religious atmosphere.
The courtyard of the Western Three Saints' Hall is the end of the Banruo Temple , outside of which are the busy roads and markets. Inside this small courtyard there are three towered buildings: the front one is the monument for the 70th anniversary of the establisher of the temple, Yan Xu preacher; the back two are the Sheli Tower of Yan Xu preacher and the second generation preacher Peng Pei . |
