Saihanba State Forest Park is the biggest one in the North of China. It is located in the north of Chengde, a part of Mulan Hunting Ground ---the famous imperial hunting ground of Qing Dynasty.

The total area of the park is 1,410,000 mu, among this, the forest covering 1,060,000 mu and the pasture covering 200,000 mu. 75.2% of the whole area is covered by forest. With the distinctive climate and a long history, it becomes a very beautiful natural scenery. Here are vast forest sea and prairie, limpid lakes and historical site of Qing Dynasty. There are 81 families, 312 genus and 659 species of higher plants, 11 families and 25 species of animals and 27 families and 88 species of birds. Famous scenery spots are Kangxi Military-reviewing Stand, the General's pond, Saihan Lake, Saihan tower and Ten-li Gallery.

The climate is distinctive. In summer, it is very cool with the highest temperature beyond 25 centigrade degrees and the air here is very clean and fresh; in autumn, covered with red and golden leaves, the mountains look like flowing gold; in winter, white snow covers everything and it becomes a wonderful world of ice and snow.
