Outer Eight Temples - Shuxiang Temple

The Shuxiang Temple lies to the west of Putuozongsheng Temple, covering 220000 square metres. It was built in the 39th year of Qian long's reign. It is the temple of pure Han style. As Qian long's mother admired Manjushri very much, to satisfy his mother's wish, he constructed the temple following the style of shuxiang Temple in Wutai Mountain belonging to the emperor's family temple.
