Chengdu has taken its title of the 'Lotus City' to heart. 

On Mar. 15th, the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Parks disclosed that in order to fully illustrate the history of the city, the Bureau would plant lotuses, the city's flower, extensively this year. 

The lotus scenery project covers round-the-city expressways and flyovers. Pyramidalis trees have been planted at the center of the expressways and lotuses and camphor trees along the sides; lotus and gingko will be planted on the flyovers. 

Chengdu has completed the round-the-city expressway lotus scenery project and will continue to extensively plant lotuses in order to improve the cityscape.
