Situated about 95 km away from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, Xiling Snow Mountain, with its summit being 5,364 meters and area of 484.8 square kilometers, is one of the famous national scenic resort known for its virgin forest, alpine landscape and pleasant climate. 

The Skiing Resort in the mountain is a large and well-equipped skiing resort as well as a beautiful snow park in winter. It covers an area of approximately 7 square kilometers, with the altitude from 2,200 to 2,400 meters. The highest temperature in summer is only 25'C and the lowest in winter -10'C. The snow season lasts from late November to the end of March the next year. The average depth of coverage is more than 60 cm. Due to its altitude, snow quality and snow season are similar with the European Alps, so Xiling is renowned as the Oriental Alps. 

In summer, one can also have fun in the resort by grass skiing on the grass field that covers an area of 500,000 square meters. 

A high quality cement road connecting the mountain resort and Chengdu brings a very convenient transportation to visitors there within only 2 hours driving, making the resort a popular destination for tourists whole year round.
