Eling Park, also known as 'courteous park', was built in 1909 and was originally the home of Lee, a wealthy businessman.
During the war against Japan, Chang-Kai Shek and his wife lived here and some embassies were also established in the park.
After the liberation of Chongqing in 1949, the park became the headquarters of the Southwest Military Command.
In 1958, it was remodeled as a park and named Eling Park. It ia an ideal place to enjoy views of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers and the night views of Chongqing.
