Located in a place about 80,000 meters away from Wuxi County, Hongchiba (Red Pool Dam) has a hilltop pastureland and a primeval forest.
At the entrance to Hongchiba there is a limestone cave. Outside the cave the place is densely wooded with the blooming of flowers in red color. However, the situation inside the cave is quite different. With the temperature as cold as in winter, many six or seven-meter-long sticks of icicles are hanging down from the center of the cave top. On the right side there stands a five-meter-long icicle column, while on the left side there roar three ice waterfalls.
As for the cave bottom, there stands an ice forest in the form of bamboo shoot, and strangely, this kind of view occurs only by the time of summer when the temperature outside the cave has risen to 15 degree. On the contrary, by the time of winter, it is so cold that snow begins to fall outside the cave, but all the icicle column inside the cave are suddenly disappeared. In such a case, the locals name this strange cave as the 'Cave with Icicles Appearing in the Summer'. This kind of abnormal phenomenon is rarely seen in any other places.
