Located in the southeast of Guangdong Province and in the north of the Pearl River Delta. 
At  east longitude 112' and north latitude 22' , bordering on the South China Sea, adjacent to Hongkong and Macao.

Total 10 districts and 2 satellite cities. The urban 8 are Yuexiu District, Dongshan District, Haizhu District, Liwan District, Tianhe District, Baiyun District, Huangpu District and Fangcun District. The suburban 2 are Panyu District and Huadu District. The two satellites are Zengcheng City and Conghua City.
