Guilin Stele Forest is to the south of Yueya Hill. There are about 2,000 pieces of stone carvings and inscriptions in Guilin, of which about 100 are in the Dragon Refuge Cave. 

Departments and units in charge of protecting historical relics have built an exhibition hall at the entrance of the cave and put on display some rubbed version of the carvings and inscriptions collected from stelae in other hills and caves. 

The exhibits have topics ranging from politics to history, science and calligraphy, so that the cave and the hall are linked into a seemingly natural oneness, which is designated as 'Guilin Stelae Forest''. Among the most famous and precious inscriptions are 'The Membership Roster of Yuan You Group' (Yuan You, Song Emperor from 1086-1094), 'Meizhi on Five Miasmata', and 'Eulogy to Five Gentlemen by Huang Ting-jian'.
