Guilin Oriental Dragon Park to Be Built

Guilin Oriental Dragon Park, promoted, designed and invested in earnestly by overseas Chinese, is now being built in one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in China -- Guilin.

The new park will help service patriotic educational purposes nationwide, as dragons are a mythical symbol of Chinese in its traditional culture.

China National Patriotic Project Union, together with Guilin Oriental Dragon Cultural Tourism Co., Ltd., has recently signed an agreement in Beijing to construct Guilin Oriental Dragon Park, in collaboration. They both anticipate developing the park into a cultural educational base in the future.

According to the plan, Guilin Oriental Dragon Park will be built around the theme 'one dragon and nine sceneries.'

'One dragon' represents the main figure of the park, a 5,009-meter-long artificial dragon. The dragon will be attired with 130,000 pieces of gold, a symbol of 1.3 billion both domestic and overseas Chinese uniting tightly together.

'Nine sceneries' consists of nine scenic views, such as the Shining Dragon Square, Appreciating Dragon House and Meeting Dragon Pavilion.

The park begins construction in fall 2006. The Shining Dragon Square, situated in the beginning of the dragon head, is projected to be finished before the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Guilin, located in Guangxi province, is regarded as one of the country's most picturesque cities in southern China. Two crystal-clear rivers meander through the city encircled by mountains with unique rock formations and caves presenting a marvelous natural beauty in detail.
