A few minutes down from the Elephant Hill, located on the west bank of the Xiaodongjiang River in the southeast of Guilin, the Pagoda Hill is topped with a seven-story brick pagoda, which was named Longevity Buddha Pagoda (Shoufo Ta). Built in the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), this hexagonal pagoda is fourteen meters high and three meters in diameter on the lowest floor.
On the second floor, a row of longevity Buddha carved out of stone are displayed. Their tops made in the shape of alms bowls covered with a gourd crown. Now, this pagoda, as well as the Pagoda Hill is one of the scenes in Chuanshan Park.
