| Located at the foot of Mount Dongpo, 12
kilometres east of Huangping, Feiyun (Flying Clouds) Cliff is a group
of ancient structures, including pavilions, towers, temple halls and
corridors. The rock formations resembling clouds gave it its name.
It was first built in 1513 of the Ming Dynasty, but was destroyed
twice in later wars. The extant buildings were mostly built in the
Qing Dynasty. Because of the ancient post road passing here, many
travelling officials, merchants and scholars visited and left a great
number of stone carvings. |
