Maotai
Liquor
This world-famous liquor, produced in Maotai Town of Renhuai County,
is exported to over 100 countries and regions. It is one of the world's
three most famous distilled liquors. In 1915, Maotai won global fame
at the Panama World Fair. Since 1949, it
has won 14 international gold prizes and been listed the No.1 national
famous liquor for years. A yeast-fermented spirit, Maotai is clear
and transparent, and offers a pure, mild and mellow soy sauce fragrance
that lingers. It contains 53 percent alcohol.
Dongjiu Liquor
Dongjiu, one of China's brand-name liquors, has been produced at Donggongsi
in northern Zunyi for over 200 years. The major raw material, sorghum,
is fermented with wheat and rice yeasts and over 130 medicinal herbs.
After steaming and distillation, the new liquor is mixed with a quantity
of old liquor using strict procedures. Dongjiu's unique fragrance
is rich and strong. Its sweet taste lingers long after drinking. It
contains 60 percent alcohol.
Duyun Maojian Tea
This tea, produced in Duyun and a 1915 Panama World Fair prize winner,
has been around for over 500 years. It was even listed as a tribute
to the Ming court. It has long been named one of the country's 10
famous teas. Maojian tea leaves are fine with snow-white hairs and
roll up tightly like silvery hooks. The hairs float in the fresh green
tea, which emits a sweet fragrance.

distinct shapes, patterns and motifs. While Miao ornaments often use
dog, cat, horse, insect, flower and bird motifs, the Gejia prefer
sun, stars, dragon, phoenix, bat and certain plants motifs. The different
varieties give Huangping silver ornaments their great artistic value.
Yuping Flutes
Flutes (horizontal and vertical) produced
in Yuping County are a traditional Guizhou brand-name product that
have won international prizes. These elaborately carved flutes made
of local bamboo, which has longer solid joints of even thickness,
produce a clear and beautiful sound.
Anshun Opera Masks
These masks, commonly calledlianzi, are used in the Anshun's folk
opera. Made of white poplar and meticulously carved andcolourfully
painted, they are vivid and sometimes exaggerated and mysterious.

Produced in Yunwu
Mountain in Guiding County, this tea was made a tribute to the early
Qing court. The leaves resemble fishhooks, thin and soft, with whitish
hair. This charming green tea is much loved for its low caffeine and
high catechin content.
Anshun
Batik
A traditional handicraft of the Buoyeis in the Anshun region, batik
had far-reaching fame in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Traditional designs
of flowers, birds, fish and insects produced on
indigo-dyed cotton cloth reflect strong ethnic characteristics.Recently,
silk andwool batiks invarious other colours have been made. Over 1,000
types of products are made, including cloth, bedding, tapestries,
caps and purses.
Ethnic Silver Articles
The silver ornaments produced in Huangping County are mainly two types
- Miao and Gejia. Both of them include headgear, necklaces and bracelets.
