Hangzhou has long been known as 'Capital of Silk'. Its history can be traced back to the Warring States Period over 2,000 years ago and reached its climax in the Tang Dynasty. Hangzhou silk has over ten categories and 200 odd varieties, and some famous products won the gold and silver medals in the country. 

Hangzhou Brocade
The tradition of creating works of art in silk dates to the Tang Dynasty. Divided into two categories, namely decoration brocade and daily use brocade, de and daily use brocade, the major brocade products include tapestry, carpet, sheet, artistic silk with scenery and figures and so on. Hangzhou Dujinsheng is China's most famous factory which turns out brocades and export to over 80 countries and regions. 

Dragon Well Green Tea
Being a tribute for the Qing Dynasty emperors and their loyal families in the past, the Dragon Well green tea is the best green tea in China. It is famous for its green color, scented flavor, fresh taste and beautiful shape. Drinking green tea for long could make people strong in body and healthy in mind. 



Wangxinji Fan
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Hangzhou was famous for its fan making. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, fan, silk and Dragon Well green tea have been accl been acclaimed as 'Three Uniques' of Hangzhou. The most famous fans are the black paper fans and sandalwood fans. 



Zhang Xiaoquan Scissors
Zhang Xiaoquan is a famous brand in the scissor line of the country. It is famous for its fine craft, sharp edge, elegant style, and long duration. It was one of the tributes for the Qianlong Emperor in the Qing Dynasty. 




West Lake Silk Parasol
Frames of West Lake parasols are made from a particular kind of bamboo, while the coverings of parasol are made of light, stretched silk that comes in many different designs and colors. When a silk parasol is shut, the silk is folded inside and the bamboo frame forms into a section of round bamboo.
