The picture taken on July 29, 2004 shows the back of a sample note with a face value of one yuan issued by the People's Bank of China, the country's central bank.
The fifth edition of the one-yuan note will be issued nationwide staring July 30, 2004.
The one-yuan note is olive green, 130 mm by 63 mm. On the front of the note is a likeness of late Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong, while the reverse features the scenery of the West Lake of Hangzhou-- Three Pools Mirroring the Moon (San Tan Yin Yue)
