The Prince Bay Park is where the remains of two Southern Song - dynasty princes, Zhuang Wen and Jing Xian, are buried.
In 1988, when a canal was dug through the place to divert water from the Qiantang River to the West Lake, the burial ground was opened up as a public park, which is crisscrossed by various ponds, rivers, and a huge waterfall. The park is awarded the Best Designing Park by the Ministry of Construction in 1995.
Today, the park has become a favourite place for romantic courting couples and newly weds. It is also the site of tulip exhibition centre. In every spring, tulips blossom into a furious sea of colors and grace.
