The Former Seat of the Front Committee of the Trans-river Campaign

Located in Yaogang Village of Feidong County, the former seat of the Front Committee of the Trans-river Campaign is a key unit of historical relics under state protection.

In the spring of 1949, the General Front Committee, which was composed of Deng Xiaoping, Liu Bocheng, Chen Yi, Su Yu and Tan Zhenlin, commanded an army of one million to march southward, mapped out a strategy and directed the world-shocking Trans-river Campaign, thus making outstanding merit for the liberation of the Chinese people.

With an area of 38,600 square meters, the preserved zone of the former site comprises the air-raid shelter, Duntang and an ancient kiosk as well as the houses of the General Front Committee, the Bureau of East China and their affiliated staff section, the confidential section, the secretariat and the logistical section.
