Beginning on 13-December-2004, a new ferry service has opened linking Zhongshan in Guangdong Province to Hong Kong International Airport.

The ferryboat leaves Zhongshan at 10:30 in the morning and returns from Hong Kong at 2 in the afternoon. The whole journey takes a little over one hour.

The new service eliminates the Hong Kong visa application process for travellers intending to take international flights in Hong Kong. They can now take the ferryboat and complete all exit procedures at Hong Kong International Airport.
