| On the rocky cliffs of Heishan Mountain, northwest of Jiayuguan,
where more than 100 carved pictographs can be found along the
ravine. These carvings date to the Warring States Period(476-221
BC). They depict people hunting, horseriding and dancing as
well as some animals; the carvings are a lively record of ethnic
life in ancient China. |
