Reed Lake (Bulrush Haizi)

It is situated at 2,180 meters’ altitude in the main valley of the Jiuzhaigou, it has a length of 1,635 meters, an average width of 177.4 meters and acreage of about 290,000 square meters. It is formed mainly due to the deposit of debris flow and flood substances at the bottom of the valley, which made it shallow and led the growth of bulrush. If the situation continues, the trees in the shallow waters will grow intensely together, the condition of water movement will be partially changed. Then a great amount of travertin will deposit and get concrete around the woods, which might form clusters of beach bonsais.
