Colorful Pond : Hidden
in the dense and towering forest, it is one of the lakes in
Jiuzhaigou Valley whose colors change most. When the sun pierces
through the forest and shines upon the lake, the breeze will
bring about numerous rings of rippied glittering in various
colors. |
| It is located
at the end of Tsang Hai, which is in the mountains to the west
of the valley. Among the crevice of moraine ridges, seep from
Tsang Hai flows in loose deposits. As a result, CaCo3 in the
water is broken down into Ca, Mg ions etc., which leads the
increase of their ratio in the water (2.43 ml/l in Five Colors
Pool, 1.68ml/l in Tsang Hai). Besides, colorful moss and algae
in the water together with invert reflection of blue sky and
green woods form the spectacle of Five Color Pool. It is 50
m lower than the earth surface and its color is like the peacock
blue. |
