It is situated at 2,386
meters’ altitude in the main valley of the Jiuzhaigou
Valley. It has an average width of 105 meters, an average length
of 1,050 meters and an acreage of about 110,000 square meters.
The Mirror Haizi is formed by the landslide substances that
block the valley. After being calcified, substances that blocked
the Haizi formed a large platform, on which calcified mounds
separate it into two smaller lakes.

| In recent
years, great amount of sand has been brought down into the Mirror
Haizi from the Danzu valley. Because of the deposit of sand,
the aquatic grass at the back of the Mirror Haizi is now growing
toward its center gradually, which result the shrinking of the
Haizi. |
