an altitude of 2,315 meters and a depth of 12 meters, Rhinoceros Haizi
covers an area of over 200 square meters. The Lake is broad and dark
blue. The volume of water keeps the same all year round. It is said
that the peaceful Rhinoceros Haizi was endowed with mysterious power.
The legend goes that an eminent Tibetan monk came here riding a rhinoceros
which dived into the lake for love of its water and the lake has been
so named ever since. In the southern bushes, there is a landing stage,
where visitors can see to the north Mount Ce Mo (Goddess Mountain).
Rhinoceros Haizi is also the only place in Jiuzhai Gou that provides
boat-renting service to travelers. |
