The constructions are a combination of wood and clay structures with wood structure as the main. They are built along the hillside. The wall base is built by stones and wall body in clay. The roof is streamline with fir tree slices cut by Tibetan knives as the cover. It is a very powerful drainage system. The building is divided into three layers: the first layer is used for livestock, the second is for human beings and the third is for the storage of fodder and other sundries. This kind of building is very suitable for the need of the half agriculture and half livestock husbandry life in Jiuzhaigou.
