| Jiuzhaigou Valley is the home of 3 main ethnic group of minorities, namely,
Tibetan ,Qiang, and Hui, besides Han Nationalities. |
|
Jiuzhaigou Valley literally means "nine-village-valley. It
is said that earlier there were 9 Tibetan villages in the valley,
6 villages of these remain till date , comprising of 800 inhabitants. |
| The
town of Jiuzhai lies outside the scenic site, near the northwest boarder.
Agricultural activities , including pasture and cultivation occur
with in the site , and some of the remaining Tibetan villages are
sites of tourism development. |
