Macau Museum of Art
The Macau Cultural Centre also houses the Macau Museum of Art and an interactive multi-media museum.
The Macau Museum of Art consists of four specialized exhibition areas highlighting collections of China Trade paintings, Chinese calligraphy, 19th Century and 20th Century paintings, Shiwan ceramics and historical documents from the Luis de Camoes Museum collection.
Another unique aspect of the Museum Building lies in the creation of a multi-media interactive history library where users will be able to gain access via the Internet to the archives of historical data and information held in the world's leading museums.
Facilities in the Museum Building are also complemented by a private audio-visual theatre, conference facilities, a cafeteria and a museum shop.
The Museum Building contains the Macau Museum of Art where the treasures of the Luis de Camoes Museum will again be put on public view. It also has an area temporary exhibitions, a lecture theatre and a state-of-the-art multi-media centre where the public can gain access to information on the world's leading museums via the Information Superhighway.
Both buildings contain restaurant and cafe facilities, cloakrooms, ticket offices and information counters.
The Fire Department Museum
This is a thematic museum, well cared for and very interesting, enabling the visitor to know the centenarian history of the Macau Fire Department in an attractive way, located at the Estrada do Repouso near the Kiang Wu Hospital. Clearly showing a didactic as well as an historic concern, the museum shows the different activities performed by the Fire Department in the local society, all the instruments used in previous times together with those in use nowadays. Visitors should note the variety of documents gathered and which are now in exhibition. It is also worth noticing the dignified way in which those who gave their lives working for this Department are now remembered.
