The Chinese mainland's biggest hotel management group, Jinjiang International, is looking to expand its business outside the country, especially in southeast Asia. The Shanghai-based company, which is part of the state-owned Jinjiang Group, aims to capitalize on the relaxation of the country's travel policy that has led to growing numbers of mainland tourists going overseas. Company president Christopher Bachran told reporters that southeast Asia is among their favorite destinations. Jinjiang wants to build up its presence outside China to be a competitive international player. Jinjiang's overseas ambitions come at a time when the world's major hotel chains such as Carlson Hotels Worldwide, and InterContinental Hotels Group are falling over themselves to be established in China. 2004/10/15 Source:CRI |
