There
are about 10,000 Arabian descendants whose surname is
Guo living on Baiqi Island in Quanzhou. The words on
their tombstones are written in both Chinese and Arabic.

This
Hindu carving was taken from a temple and inlaid into
the wall of a house on the outskirts of Quanzhou.Local
people worship it as an image of Guanyin, a Chinese
Buddhist deity.

The
Arabic writing on this stone carving looks almost like
Chinese calligraphy on an ancient seal.
