At No 9 Dalu Xincun on Shanyin Road, Lu Xun lived from April 1933 to Oct. 19,1936, when he passed away. Here Lu Xun wrote many militant essays and translated works like the 'Dead Soul', edited Ju Qiubai's posthumous works, 'Collection of Works on the Sea'. In 1935, when the Chinese Worker-Peasant Red Army victoriously reached Shaanxi, Lu Xun sent them a telegram of congratulation. In 1956, Lu Xun's Memorial Hall was built inside Hongkou Park. The name of the memorial hall was inscribed by Zhou Enlai. The relics displayed there describe the ideological development and miltant cause of Lu Xun, emphasizing on the ten years of his social and cultural life in Shanghai. Lu Xun's tomb was formerly located in the International Cemetery in Shanghai. Lu Xun's tomb wa formerly locarted in the International Cemetery in Shanghai's western suburbs. It was moved to Hongkou Park in 1956. On the tombstone are inscribed by Mao Zedong, 'Tomb of Mr LuXun'. In fornt of the tomb on the lawn is bronze statue of Lu Xun. Around the tomb are plated pines and cypresses, giving the graveyard a solemn and respectful atmosphere. It is a key relic site under state protection.
