The mosque is also called as Zhenjiao Mosque. Located on Zhongshan Road in Chengxiang Town, Songjiang District, it is an ancient Islam architecture so far well preserved in the country. The shrine hall and the Bangke tower were built at the end of the Yuan dynasty. In the Yongle years of the Ming dynasty (1404-1423) the mosque was extended. It consist of a Bangke tower, a prayer hall, a bath and a shrine are Arabian 'Gongbaille' architecture. The prayer hall is in the structure of a Ming Dynasty hall. In the mosque are kept tablets carved with the inscriptions from the reigns of Qing Emperors Kangxi, Jiaqing, Daoguang and Tongzhi.
