The Shanghai Tourism Souvenir Exhibition Center opened yesterday, making it the first facility of its kind in China.

The 2,000-square-meter building provides a venue specifically for exhibitions, trade, design, consultation and information exchange about tourism souvenirs, according to the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Commission.

Hundreds of excellent works by 41 local folk artists and craftsmen are currently on display.

The exhibition will run through January 5.
