Shanghai Magnetic Suspension Express Train Project is a commercial high-speed railway combining the traffic, sightseeing and touring.

The main line is 30km long, starting from Baiyang Road, south Longyang Road, along Line No.2 of the subway, and ending at the Pudong International Airport. It will take only eight minutes to travel between the downtown area to the airport by the maglev train, which runs at a speed of more than 400 kilometers per hour. It's the world's fastest, most futuristic passenger line.

Each train can carry 959 passengers and there are 12 departures every hour from the terminal at the airport.

The maiden voyage for this world renowned Shanghai magnetic levitation train started in the morning of Dec. 31, 2002.
