  Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

Located in Liantang, Luohu District, Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden is a scenic spot focusing on tourism supplemented by scientific research and science popularization. The garden with an area of 590 hectares was begun to build in 1982, and opened to the public on May 1, 1988.

There are sixteen collections with more than 3,000 species conserved in the garden. The whole garden can be divided into six scenic spots, which are 'Earthly Paradise', 'Lake Spot', 'Temple Spot',' Desert Spot', 'Fossil Forest' and 'Pines, Cypresses, Azaleas', where are built dozens of landscapes including caves, mazes, Heavenly Pond, Billow-enjoying Pavilion and Pavilion of interest, as well as couples of botanical variety areas such as palm forest, bamboo forest, potted landscape yard and precious and rare wood totaling 3000 plants.

The palm area takes on a look of typical tropic scenery with green grass, dotted with coco trees and sunflowers. In the ornamental plants area, the insectivorous plants are waiting for games with great attention, and the charming flowers of dancing orchids look like the graceful dancing steps of maids of honor. In the fossil woods, agate fossils erect proudly and billions of years cannot remove circles of the annual rings and layers of grains, which seem to tell the endless ups and downs.
