World Circus Continues to Wow China

Circus acrobats aren't like you or me. They may look like normal people, but their skills are far from the ordinary. To acrobats, defying the laws of physics comes just as easy as tying shoelaces. The cream of world acrobatics has balanced and back-flipped to Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, for the China Wuqiao International Circus Festival.

Russians are simply crazy about ballet and they seem to be determined to take it everywhere they go! Four years of ballet education enables 17-year-old Lisa Khatchatrian to gracefully, convincingly and breath-takingly tiptoe along a thin wire.

The Peony Peak Acrobatic brought 'Roira, Roira' all the way from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as their second and final program of the championships.

The Ukrainian State Circus offered a 'mini parallel bars act' along with a red hot Spanish dance that raised a few temperatures in the Shijiazhuang culture center.

The Russian State Circus and the Circus Association of Brazil put on duo aerial acts, both displaying the trust and confidence.

Held every two years from 1987, China's Wuqiao International Circus Festival is one of the world's top three circus. One of the 20 programs from 12 countries will win the coveted Golden Lion Award on Nov. 9.
