  Ancient Tomb Excavated in Taiyuan

Archaeologists have unearthed a large ancient tomb in a southern suburb of Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi province. The tomb dates back to the Western Han dynasty (BC206-23AD). So far, experts have disinterred about 40 bronze articles from the tomb including ancient cooking vessels, swords, water jugs, and chariot models. Experts assume that the tomb occupant was a high-ranking aristocrat, which is based on the precious articles buried with his body. They also believe that they will have more discoveries. The tomb, the fourth of its kind to be found in the suburbs of Taiyuan, will offer additional information for history research.
