  Mt. Panshan

Located 12 km northwest of Jixian County in Tianjin and about 75 kilometers east of Beijing, Panshan is one of the 15 famous mountain of China and known as 'The First Mountain to the east of Beijing'. It is unique for its 'five peaks and eight stones' and 'three big windings', as well as 72 temples and monasteries.

Mount Panshan is on the edge of the North China Plain. Less than a thousand meters above sea level, the granite peaks rise abruptly, featured by the many sheer precipices and grotesquely shaped rocks and boulders. The small mountain has a cluster of 5 peaks, with the highest being Guayuefeng (Peak of Hanging Moon), reaching 864 metres. Although it is not high, Panshan is still a beautiful mountain, with delicate pagodas, graceful temples, beautiful tress, unique stones and clear water.
