Memorial Hall Of The Boxer Uprising

This memorial hall, located at 18 Hejia Lane, Ruyi'an Street of Hongqiao District, has been converted from a temple dedicated to Lv Dongbin, who is one of the eight gods in Chinese folklore. In 1900, when the Boxers’ Uprising happened in the 26th year under the reign of Emperor Guang Xu of the Qing Dynasty, Cao Futian, leader of the Boxer Uprising set his headquarters here to take command of anti-imperialist activities. After renovation in 1985, it became the Memorial Hall of the Boxers' Uprising.
