The Tuanbo Lake Scenic Area is in the eastern part of Jinghai County, 24 kilometres from Tianjin downtown. Since Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty had come here on a pleasure tour, the lake is also called Qianlong Lake. 

The scenic area is centered on the lake of nearly 132 square kilometers with a water surface of 60 square km where reeds grow in abundance and fish of many varieties swim. The lake with its quiet surroundings is also the habitat of swans, mandarin ducks, egrets and more than 60 other species of aquatic birds.

The Lake-Center Island is over 33 hectares in area with a large Amusement Palace built on it. Besides facilities for many kinds of amusement, there are also restaurants, food stalls and hotels equipped with facilities and services for conferences.
