Preparations are going on well for the 29th tournament open world water ski championships set for Tianjin, northern Chinese port city, in August, organizers said on Tuesday.

Listed on the program of the August 15-21 championships are men's and women's slalom, tricks, jump, overall and team events.

The championships sanctioned by the sport's world governing body the International Water Ski Federation are to be held in the International Aquatic Center in the Dongli Lake.

The organizers said a field of some 500 athletes from more than 60 countries and regions is expected, including those from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, France, Britain, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and hosts China.
