The site of Weiyang palace, one of the important constructions in the city of Chang'an of the Han dynasty, is in Xi Ma Zhai in the northwest suburbs of Xian City.

The palace was built in 200 B.C. (the seventh year under the reign of Han Emperor Gaozu) supervised by the then Prime Minister Xiao He. The palace consisted of over forty palaces, terraces and pavilions of Chenming, Qingliang, Xuanshi, etc.
