Situated
at the Mirror Bay, Gaolan, west of Zhuhai, the cliff carvings at Moya are
relics of the Bronze Age. Discovered in Oct. 1989 by the archeologists of
the Zhuhai Museum, it contents of what it renders, you seem to see many
things, such as boats, human beings, snakes, birds, deer and many drawings
of different patterns, some of which appear to resemble that on the bronze
ware and the ancient pottery, and some of which are hard to tell yet. You
are able to see many people, men and women, some of whom are standing or
lying down, or running, or dancing. So vivid and so mysterious are images.
You seem to see its reflections of the primitive humans' totemism, custom,
daily activities, and art as well. The Mirror Bay Petroglyphs Series are
of extreme values, and were announced as Zhuhai Cultural Relics Site for
Protection in 1989. |
